At Whitsunday Neighbourhood Centre we have an array of programs to help in varying ways.
Resume Writing Assistance
We can assist you step-by-step through the following:
- How to create or update a resume
- How to write a cover letter
- How to understand and respond to selection criteria
The service is free by appointment.
Form Fill Assistance
Many people are stuck when required to fill in forms. People don’t understand the question or are unsure of what to write. Some people do not have the language skills or literacy competence to complete forms like:
- Superannuation forms
- Applications forms
- Will Kits
This service is free by appointment.
My Time Program
Local support groups for parents and carers of children with disability or chronic medical condition.

Be Connected Computer Program
The Be Connected Computer Program provides one-on-one lessons to seniors (over 50’s) to develop their skills using tablets, smart phones, laptops or computers.
Each lesson is:
- tailored to what the student wants to learn, from emailing, photos or social media
- is taught using REAL language instead of jargon
- Is not limited to the number of lessons maximum per person
- Lessons are available Friday’s 9-2.30pm (excludes public holidays)

Second Bite Program
The Secondbite program coordinates partnerships between Coles and charity organisation to get surplus healthy produce and bakery products to those most in need. The Whitsunday Neighbourhood Centre collects surplus fruit, vegetables and bread from Coles Cannonvale for redistribution to people in need.
Food Rescue Program
Woolworths Food Diversion program coordinates partnerships with Woolworths to get surplus healthy produce and bakery products to those most in need. The Whitsunday Neighbourhood Centre collects surplus fruit, vegetables and bread from Woolworths Cannonvale for redistribution to people in need.
Pre-loved furniture and Opportunity Shop
The Community Furniture Shed & Op Shop accepts donations of pre-loved household items and on-sell them to the public. The CFSOS is operated by volunteers and the money raised from sales is used to funds other projects and programs to the community. We are the ONLY Op Shop in Cannonvale that can guarantee that the money raised from sales STAYS in the community for people in need.
Justice of the Peace & Commissioner for Declarations
We have Justice of the Peace and a Commissioner for Declaration available at Reception and no appointment necessary.
A Commissioner for Declaration is a qualification under a Justice of the Peace, however a C. Dec can do most documents required of a JP If you want to check to be sure you may phone 49467850.
Alternatively you can see a JP or C. Dec at these days and times.
A volunteer Justice of the Peace is available 1-3pm Mondays and 11-1pm Thursday’s.
A Commissioner for Declaration’s is available from 9-2.30pm Tuesday and Wednesday.
